National Dance Network
With representatives from all over the UK, the National Dance Network (NDN) is a meeting point for organisations whose main role is the presentation, programming and commissioning of dance. The NDN also manages the artistic direction and financial development of the annual British Dance Edition (BDE).
British Dance Edition is the UK dance industry’s leading showcase event, presenting the best of British dance to promoters and producers from the UK and across the globe, who together control programming budgets worth over £25million. The event is an initiative of the National Dance Network and takes place biennially.
In 2012, London’s Olympic year, it will be held in the capital for the first time. British Dance Edition London 2012 will be hosted by a consortium of eight of London’s leading dance promoters – Dance Umbrella, East London Dance, Greenwich Dance, ROH2, Sadler’s Wells, Southbank Centre, The Place and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (Trinity Laban).
For the first time the showcase will present a fully currated programme of work that has grown out of the consortium’s ongoing development work with artists and in consultation with the National Dance Network and other key producers. In addition to a broad programme of dance there will be opportunities to meet the artists, discuss the work and engage with other promoters. There will be a small trade fair taking place alongside the performance programme.
Registration for delegates is now open
